Design “io” won the johnson mathey silver award, in 1982 about 1998 production started commercially, not in silver, but in stainless steel in 2000 the name changed from “io” to “nio” and production moved to new location, in 2009 production stopped as the price of the stainless steel material and other manufacturing costs had effectively doubled over the period. Handle is made of bakelite. Designer: olivier hemming.
