Designed in 1969 by French sculptor André Cazenave, the Dora Moon Rock Lamp is a landmark icon of French mid-century modern design. Created during the era of space exploration, this sculptural lamp blends organic, nature-inspired forms with modern materials. Handcrafted with a moulded fibreglass shell coated in fine marble powder, the lamp captures the tactile texture and irregular contours of a smooth river stone or lunar rock. When unlit, it serves as an understated, grounding art piece. When switched on, the material diffuses light into a soft, golden glow reminiscent of the moon's surface. Ideal as a floor lamp or low-profile table accent, the Dora lamp bridges the gap between functional lighting and organic sculpture. The lamp is in excellent vintage condition.
