Black glazed ceramic tealight holder, signed Jean Marais on the side. France, circa 1970-1980. Very good condition. In addition to his career as an actor, Jean Marais (1913-1998) was a painter, sculptor, and ceramist. After setting up his first studio in Cabris in the 1970s, he opened a studio in Vallauris in the 1980s, which remained active for 15 years.
