Large serving trolley in blond wood from... matignon! (2/2)

Second serving trolley from a set of two only - to be seized! Furniture from the Hôtel Matignon (residence of the Prime Minister) is rare and these two serving trolleys are magnificent! Dating from the first half of the 20th century, probably custom-made, it is made of solid beech and of very fine craftsmanship (obviously). It rests on 4 very nicely arched legs and finished with large gilded casters (the gilding has chipped a little) which allow it to be moved with disconcerting ease. Safety systems also allow the wheels to be locked to stabilize the table. The two tops with scalloped edges offer ample space and this serving trolley was apparently used during official receptions to serve dishes. The uprights of the legs are fluted and all set with bronze rods (all present). Some traces of wear which give it its patina and a wood of a luminous blondness which has remained of an undeniable modernity. In short, a superb piece that you won't find at a neighbor's and which can be used as a table, a serving trolley in a business or even in a bathroom or as a kitchen island.
