A classic of old French earthenware, at its finest: This ironstone dish is adorned with an "Iris" design with elegant floral scrolls, typical of the late 19th century, circa 1880–1900. The very graphic underglaze blue design is enhanced by a beautiful surface patina, testifying to its history. Stamped Manufacture Clairefontaine (LG anchor stamp): it was located in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, in the North of France. Founded around 1865, it operated until the beginning of the 20th century. One of the best-known periods is that of the Sanejouand & Graves association, active from around 1880 to 1890, a period during which the anchor stamp surrounded by the letters S and G (or sometimes L and G for other partners) was used. Dish in good condition despite being over a hundred years old, some traces of use, network of fine cracks, patina of time which gives it charm. Dimensions: length 35 cm, width 24.5 cm. A jewel for lovers of antique tableware or for a poetic and soulful decoration.
