Golden Cataplana

Nice vintage/old typically portuguese kitchen utensil, cataplana, in gilded copper or hammered brass, quite rare, generally they are in orange copper, tin interior coating (a priori). It is a round capsule that closes with clips in order to smother food, used in the preparation of some traditional portuguese dishes. 26cm in diameter, 15-16cm in height, with 2 handles, 2 clips for closing, a screw to separate or bring together the 2 elements. Good condition/in its original condition, exterior showing signs of use (small scratches, oxidation spots, etc.) the "cooking" side is a little blackened, the "top" side is a little cleaner but has a little patina. Clean interior, in used condition, but the rim shows signs of use. Can be used in the kitchen or as wall decoration! About 1kg.
