Pistillino lamp by Studio Tetrarch for Valenti Luce, 1970s

Pistillino wall or table lamp by the Italian maker Valenti Luce, designed by Studio Tetrarch in the early 1970s. The name reflects its flower-like look: the arms, like stamens, are arranged symmetrically around the centre, each curved arm ending in a plastic ball, and switched on the whole structure plays with light. This version was made as a table lamp with a power cord, plug and switch, but can just as easily be used as a wall light. Condition: good, with traces of time; one stamen is missing. Dimensions: height 15 cm, diameter 30 cm (5.9 in high, 11.8 in).
