Oil on panel depicting the port of Martigues, known as the Quai Brescon, also called the Mirror of the Birds, which has become a favourite spot for great painters. In the Ile district, the Mirror of the Birds provides an enchanting urban backdrop. This splendid body of water, adorned with a fleet of traditional boats with lateen sails and bordered by old fishermen's houses with painted facades, has fascinated many painters since it was classified in 1942. This painting captures the atmosphere of the port with fishermen on their boats and men on the quay. One can discern through this artwork the depth and luminosity of this picturesque place. The light is vibrant between the sky and the water, showcasing an infinite variety of colours. A location with a very bucolic aspect that leaves us dreaming. This painting is signed A.G. Levert. In perfect condition.
