Ancient cherry blossom fabric box 1940

The box is in very good condition. It is made of hard cardboard, fully sheathed with fabric, except for the underside, and the inside that are covered with paper. The hinge is made of fabric, it is in perfect condition. The lid is embellished with a slightly patinated golden stripe that adorns the entire edge. These boxes were sold at the beginning of the 20th century, in the gands magasins parisiens, spring, samaritan, on the ladies' shelves. They were used as work boxes. The fabric on the lid is a little bit less fresh than on the sides, but it is very beautiful, and in very good condition. The long format is quite unusual.
