A rectangular sheet made of a linen and cotton blend, light beige in color, featuring a Venetian drawstring border in the same shade and a white embroidered monogram at the top. In perfect condition, as we acquired a batch of antique but new sheets, we nevertheless had them professionally cleaned. This sheet will find its place in your bedroom and provide extra comfort to your nights thanks to the fabric's thick weave. You can also use it as a tablecloth or as a base fabric for sewing curtains. As with all new linen and cotton blends, you will need to soak this sheet in clean water for a day before using it. This step is necessary to remove the starch and soften the fabric. Drawn stitch embroidery is one of the oldest and most elegant techniques. The most common is the Venetian drawstring finish, which, with its "bars," carefully highlights the edges of pillowcases and high-end bed sheets. The Venice Day fabric is named as such because, from the 15th century onwards, Venetian embroiderers were specialists in this craft. This expertise was then exported and developed in France from the 17th century onwards, inspiring French luxury. L180 x W312 cm
