Old cup colored in Deruta faïence

Period: ca. Mid-20th century. A large, colourful bowl of hand-painted earthenware. The serpentine handles, scalloped ledge and three-dimensional rollers make it truly special. The vivid floral decoration is inspired by the ancient 16th century murals in the perugia region of italy. Deruta has been known for its ceramic production for more than 600 years. The underside of the bowl bears the mark of the manufacturer "old deruta - hand-painted" and the mark with an amphora. This is a vintage bowl that had been in the possession of the previous owner for several decades. State: Very well. No damage. In one of the photos, you'll see what looks like a tiny sparkle; it is not a shine but a small production defect where the glaze/painting did not cover the underlying terracotta. There is a trace of paint (also a production defect) on one of the borders. Size: See photo.
