Alabaster column - 19th-century pedestal
Magnificent antique pedestal column (or plinth), made of authentic natural alabaster, dating from the late 19th century / early 20th century. • Material: Solid alabaster with superb cloudy and translucent veining characteristics. • Structure: Classic model with a round shape, featuring a turned shaft, resting on a square base and topped with an original square plate. Period mounting system with a central threaded rod and nut ensuring the stability and solidity of the whole. • General condition: Good overall condition. Some signs of wear over time, notably a slight chipping of the original varnish located at the base of the column and a few chips, which do not detract from the charm or solidity of the piece. Heavy and delicate piece.
