Set of 4 pyrite sandstone jattes signed gustave tiffoche. In perfect condition. Diameter: 16.5 cm. Height: 5 cm. Weight: 2.1 kg. Born on july 23, 1930 in saint-nazaire (loire-atlantique), gustave tiffoche joined the chantiers de l'atlantique at the age of 17, as a draftsman and then model maker. He stayed there for 16 years and participated in the construction and decoration of many transatlantic liners such as the "shalom" and the "france". In 1963, he began to produce unique pieces in glazed stoneware, with wood cooking at 1300 ° c, dishes and small decorative objects, often of good size and sculptural character, magnified by very beautiful materials in his workshop in guérande that he equipped with a wood oven and then a second gas oven. Between 1970 and 1985, many young ceramists came to learn or improve their profession, or collaborated directly with him by working in his workshop. From this period, he multiplied exhibitions throughout the france and abroad. He died in guérande in 2011.
