German Art Deco table lamp Ikora by WMF, 1930s

Elegant table lamp by WMF from the 1930s. A functional design. The simple shape of an umbrella is interrupted by an additional cathedral on top. A very subtle and decorative element on this very simple lamp. The umbrella is connected to the stem by a flat-head screw. The stem ends with a simple plate base. There is a hole at the back, at the bottom of the stem, which currently serves no function. This was the original outlet for the cable as the lamp was previously fitted with an inline switch. In 1953, a practical push switch was used on the base. This is documented very precisely inside the cover of the base. The lamp appears to be an old authority lamp and is stamped underneath with Stadtwerke Würzburg.
