This beautiful set, comprising a charming jug and 5 glazed stoneware glasses, is stamped Digoin (marked "grespots Digoin France" under the jug and the glasses). This is obviously a guarantee of quality and artisanal know-how that dates back to 1875 in Digoin, but which was largely imported from the older Sarreguemines factory when the latter decided to create new factories, including the one in Digoin, far from the border, to avoid becoming German. The set features beautiful glazing in speckled brown and caramel tones with golden reflections, typical of Digoin stoneware ceramics. The glasses are all obviously different from one another, a testament to a craft that remains artisanal despite being part of a large factory. They likely come from different series as well, as two of them have a slight ribbed relief that can be seen and felt, while the other three have a very subtle texture that is almost invisible to the eye, and their dimensions differ slightly. However, it remains a beautiful homogeneous set, and you will have no trouble complementing it with other glasses if needed. Perfect for serving orangeade or cider in the warm season, the glasses will also make lovely coffee cups. This set dates from the 1960s or 70s and is in very good condition, with no cracks, chips, or even any wear. The jug measures 22.5 cm in height, approximately 19 cm in width (from spout to handle), and about 12 cm in diameter at the belly. The glasses measure between 7.5 and 8 cm in diameter and have a height of 9 cm.
