Qom, Iran Persian carpets, around 1970. Wool on cotton, knotted frame hands, about 250,000 knots per square meter. Qom (Persian: قم), is a city in Iran located 150 km to the southwest of Tehran. It is the capital of the Province of Qom, and is located along the river Qom. Qom rug is a type of carpet produced in Iran. The first trades appear around 1930, at the initiative of the merchants of Kashan. Despite their recent production, they are taxed by the perfection of their technique and variety of their designs. Classic patterns are boteh and zil-e sultan. There are also flowers on carpets of Esfahan features United Fund and the central medallion of the Kashan carpets. Qom rug has a very colorful appearance, white and ivory from the bottom showing multicolored patterns. In very good condition, slight traces of use. Comes with certificate of authenticity. Dimensions: Width: 80 cm x length: 130 cm.
