Elegant antique display cabinet, dating to 19th century

Antique Italian Rococo-Style Display Cabinet – Gilt-Bronze Mounts and Decorative Marquetry – Late 19th Century. Elegant antique display cabinet in the Rococo Revival style, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1880–1900. The cabinet features a richly shaped wooden structure with a distinctive asymmetrical crest, scrolling volute, and elaborate gilt-bronze openwork ornament at the top. The cabinet is veneered in warm-toned wood, mahogany, and decorated with inlaid fine brass lines and ornamental marquetry featuring floral scrolls, mother pearl details and figurative medallions. The glazed front door and glazed side panels provide visibility from multiple angles, while the interior is lined with aged gold-toned fabric and fitted with glass shelves. The shaped lower apron is decorated with further marquetry and gilt-bronze mounts. The cabriole legs and elaborate crest contribute to its refined French-inspired Rococo Revival appearance. A decorative and collectible piece of antique furniture, suitable for displaying porcelain, glassware, small sculptures, or objets d’art. Included one key, and can be locked. In great original condition, consistent with age and use. It has been refreshed only with wax with its natural splendid patina after years. Measurement: Width 87cm X Height 225 cm X Depth 47cm.
