Vintage coffee table

This vintage coffee table is an idely creation. The formica top comes from an old bistro table from the 50s. The feet were found on a garage sale in picardy. And decorated with gilding. its rectangle format of a beautiful dimension will make it a very practical element in your living room. Enough to deposit a whole series of pretty old dishes for the aperitif for example! The top of this table is made of agglomerated wood coated with a beige formica. It bears some traces of wear, traces of its past. Did you know Formica is a laminate material covered with an artificial resin invented in the united states in cincinnati in 1913. It was herbert a faber and j. O' connor who initiated it. These two engineers were looking for new materials with physical characteristics close to that of mica (a good electrical insulator). its name is therefore simply derived from "for mica" (means in english "instead of mica"). Dimensions l90 X w60 X h45 cm - top thickness 5cm. These objects are second-hand, old, vintage. They may bear some scars from their history and past life.
