Pair of club armchairs – Napoleon III style – Blue-grey velvet – 19th century.

Pair of large Napoleon III style armchairs, covered in short-pile blue-grey velvet. The rolled armrests are adorned with a pleated rosette characteristic of the Second Empire style. The frame is dressed all around with twisted blue-grey fringe trim. The profile features an S-shaped cut on the sides, typical of productions from the late 19th to early 20th century. The proportions are generous: total height 70 cm, width 90 cm, seat height 40 cm, unit weight approximately 40 kg. The seat, slightly soft, remains comfortable and enveloping. Stability is perfect; the whole is clean. Close-up photos reveal slight wear and small snags on the tops of the armrests, requiring a small local restoration of the velvet. Sold as a pair.
