"The Arts and Crafts movement, literally 'Arts and Crafts movement', is a reformist artistic movement in the fields of architecture, decorative arts, painting, and sculpture, which originated in the UK in the 1860s and developed during the 1880s to 1910, at the end of the Victorian era. It can be considered the initiator of the Modern style, a 'parallel' Anglo-Saxon movement to the French and Belgian Art Nouveau (Henry Van de Velde and Victor Horta).".
