XO ashtray by Starck Model Ray Hollis

This ashtray, designed in 1985 by Philippe Starck (born in 1949), model Ray Hollis, was published by XO in 1986. From 1990 onwards, the XO brand appears engraved in relief. In excellent condition, see photos. More photos or information available upon request. Rare. Sold with its original box. The one presented here is part of the first models made of polished aluminium cast. Dimensions: Height 10cm, Length 11.5cm, Width 7.5cm. In the spirit of 80s Memphis design. Identical to the example in the Pompidou Centre collection, inventory number AM 2007-1-141. This ashtray was designed for the Royalton Hotel in New York, USA; it is a production dating from after 1990, as it is engraved XO on the underside of the ashtray. Included in the MoMA design collection, object number 68.2000.
