Vintage presentation plate in ceramic – Borty Vallauris – 1950s

Bring a distinctly Mid-Century and sunny touch to your table with this superb presentation dish (or sweet display) with a central handle, signed Borty Vallauris. Typical of the modernist production of Vallauris in the 1950s, this dish stands out with its speckled glaze in a beautiful gradient of turquoise and aquamarine. The decoration, entirely hand-crafted, features engraved and painted motifs of stylised leaves in contrasting tones (ochre yellow, burgundy, midnight blue), very representative of the graphic style of that era. It is equipped in its centre with an elegant twisted blackened metal handle, offering a perfect contrast to the shine of the ceramic. Ideal as a centrepiece, fruit bowl, or to present your pastries. The underside, in white glaze, bears the clearly legible handwritten signature: "Borty Vallauris". Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The ceramic shows no cracks, major chips, or wear. The colours remain very vibrant and the glazing has retained all its shine. The wrought iron handle is perfectly stable.
