Kang coffee table

Small antique Chinese Kang table in solid carved elm, from northern China, early 20th century. Originally, this type of table was designed to be placed on a Kang, a heated platform serving as a living, resting, and reception space. The solid top features beautiful traditional joinery and a warm patina, marked by time and successive use.
