This antique coffee pot stands out with its sleek cylindrical silhouette, characteristic of French utilitarian fire porcelain from the late 19th century. The glossy brown glaze, with golden reflections, captures the light and highlights the sensuality of the material, while the slightly greyish white interior reveals the technical mastery of the fire. Noteworthy is the very lovely shape of the lid's knob, subtly designed, which punctuates the silhouette with a detail that is both functional and refined, echoing the harmonious curve of the handle. The piece is stamped under the base “C.P. & Cie – MEHUN – FRANCE” in green, a mark corresponding to the factory founded in 1854 by Charles Pillivuyt in Mehun-sur-Yèvre. This allows us to date the manufacture to the late 19th century, around 1885–1895. Height 16.5 cm, 13.5 cm without the lid, handle width 12 cm, base diameter 8.5 cm. In excellent vintage condition. The glaze is well preserved, with a uniform patina and fine signs of use consistent with its age. An emblematic coffee pot fully in tune with a functional, essential, and radically contemporary aesthetic, where historical objects reclaim their place.
