Small Dutch Modernist Chest of Drawers, 1950s

Small modernist chest of drawers reminiscent of slightly early designs manufactured for Metz & Co. in the 1930s. It includes modernist Bauhaus like handles. The typical single layer lacquered plywood surfaces of such furniture from this period now have an aged used appearance. There was once a glass plate to the top - the metal corner placers are still there. Heavy signs of age and use to paintwork and edges.
