Rare large art deco vase in flamed sleet enamelled with ochre dripping with its harness. This vase called "blue of gannat" by gilbert metenier potter and ceramicist born in 1876, he succeeded his father in 1920 and ensured the fame of metenier art vas. The activity continued until 1940. Gilbert metenier is said to have destroyed the mussels "so that they do not fall into the hands of the occupier". There are only authentic parts, since the destruction of moulds and dies makes it technically impossible to make copies of the parts created by this factory between 1920 and 1939. H: 31.5 cm. Dial: 22 cm. Bottom: 17 cm. Neck: 17 cm. Signed on the base. This vase has been in the family since its inception. It was a wedding gift bought from the artist by our great great aunt who passed away childlessly made my paternal grandmother her heiress.
