Photography Hawa Mahal Jaipur 1960

Photograph dating from the 1960s of the hawa mahal or palace of the winds, the iconic building of jaipur originally designed to allow women of zenana to look at the city without being seen. It is a façade, almost a decoration just a few meters thick criss-crossed by stairs, pierced by dozens of windows. The spectacle of the street has changed a lot since the 1960s: camels have all but disappeared, bicycles also unfortunately. We decided to leave this print its folds and defects as a testament to the past. Pigment print 24 X 30 cm made in our parisian workshop by our master shooter on paper 260g archival ultrasmooth. Limited edition of 99 copies titled and numbered in the pencil margin.
