Slide from an anonymous photographer. This photograph of an unknown hotel is reminiscent intensely of the photographs of luigi ghirri, the photographer from modena who immortalized in colour the studio of his compatriot and neighbour the bolognese painter giogio morandi. Note the pictorial quality of the colors, the foreground of weeds, the reddish of the roofs, the memory blue of the sky, the vermilion of the hotel sign on the façade, the turquoise of the shutters and the anonymous white of the automobiles. Looks like a photograph taken by a slightly pompous stasi agent.
