Blue painted metal construction with a curved brass stem and adjustable conical shade. EWÅ maker's mark and Made in Sweden stamp underneath the base. 1950s. Table lamp produced by EWÅ Värnamo in Sweden during the 1950s. The hammered blue finish gives character to the metal surfaces and contrasts with the curved brass stem, a combination of materials typical of Nordic lighting from the period. The adjustable conical shade allows the direction of the light to be adapted as needed, while the compact proportions and the continuous curve of the stem define a balanced composition. Founded in Värnamo, one of Sweden's principal centres for furniture and lighting production, EWÅ developed lighting fixtures characterised by an understated design language and careful construction. The lamp retains the EWÅ maker's mark, the Made in Sweden stamp and the original electrical specifications underneath the base. Good condition.
