Pair of porcelain parrots Sitzendorf – Germany

Beautiful antique pair of polychrome porcelain parrots from the German manufacture Sitzendorf, Thuringia. The two birds, designed as a pair, are perched on trunks and feature a very lovely naturalistic decoration in bright colours: red, blue, yellow, and green. There is a beautiful finesse in the modelling of the plumage and foliage. Blue mark of the manufacture under each base. Dimensions: H. 18 × W. Approx. 12 cm each. Very good overall condition. The two parrots are intact. Only a small chip at the tip of a green leaf is noted, discreet and easily retouchable, visible in the photos. No other chips, cracks, or visible restorations. Period: first half of the 20th century. A lovely decorative and collectible pair, particularly interesting as it has been kept complete.
