Cache pot - Pheasant Planter in Earthenware — Polychrome Animal Motif Majolica

Cache-pot in earthenware depicting a long pheasant, with an open back to be filled with flowers or green plants. The slip work gives the feathers a naturalistic relief; the polychrome glazing plays with fuchsia, yellow-green, sky blue, and duck blue. French production from the 1950s–1960s, in the tradition of figurative animal earthenware, inspired by the style of Michel Caugant's terrines. A small PVC tray adapted to the dimensions is included.
