Modular Sofa by Herman Miller. Seats 2 to 3. This iconic sofa was designed in 1957 by George Nelson for Herman Miller Editions. Manufactured in Michigan, USA, in the 1960s. It is highly designed and very usable as is; the upholstery was redone in light grey velvet in the 1980s/90s. It is mounted on a steel frame with chrome legs approximately 20 cm high, giving it an airy and light appearance. Its total length is 230 cm, including the wooden shelf. Depth is 76 cm and total height at the top of the backrest is 70 cm. Therefore, it is not imposing in terms of volume. Rare on the market. No shipping except via Cocolis. Collection and viewing in the 94. A beautiful piece of Mid-Century Design. George Nelson was an American designer of the Streamline movement and a father of Modernism. He was born on May 29, 1908, in Hartford, Connecticut, and died on March 5, 1986, in New York. His major pieces, designed for the furniture manufacturing company Herman Miller, established his international status and left a mark on the world of design and decorative arts. Collection in the 94 or via Cocolis.
