Vase by designer alvar aalto by the finnish publisher iitala, signed, numbered 9460 and dated 1989. Aalto vase dates from 1936 and was presented to the public for the first time the following year at the universal exhibition in paris. The fluid and organic form is still blown to the mouth at the iiittala factory. It takes seven skilled craftsmen to make an aalto vase - an icon of modern design.
