Mid-Century Teak Extending Dining Table from Jentique, United Kingdom, 1960s

This extending dining table was manufactured by the British furniture maker Jentique during the 1960s. The piece represents the characteristic qualities of British Mid-Century Modern design, combining an elegant, lightweight form with outstanding functionality. The table top is crafted from teak wood, while the base is made from beech. Particular attention is drawn to the carefully sculpted edges of the tabletop and the slender construction of the base, which give the piece light and harmonious proportions. The table features two drop leaves, allowing its size to be easily adapted to current needs. When fully folded, it measures just 25 cm in length, while when fully extended it reaches 155 cm, making it an exceptionally practical solution for smaller interiors. The table has undergone comprehensive professional woodworking restoration. The wooden elements were stripped of the old coating, stained in a rosewood colour, and finished with a durable high-quality semi-matt lacquer, which protects the surface while enhancing the natural grain of the wood.
