This exquisite 18th-century dutch louis XVI full lenght mirror is a refined example of period craftsmanship, preserved in very good condition. The rectangular basswood frame is elegantly adorned with a delicate pearl rim and finely carved bay leaves and berries, reflecting the sophisticated neoclassical style of the era. A distinctive feature of this mirror is the 'verre églomisé' medallion at the top, showcasing a silhouette portrait delicately painted in east-indian ink and watercolor. The mercury glass has developed a subtle patina over time, enhancing its authentic antique character. Crafted in the netherlands around 1780, this mirror dates back to the late voc era (1602–1800, united east india company), embodying both european neoclassical influences and the global reach of dutch trade. A true collector’s piece, it brings history, elegance, and craftsmanship into any interior. Object: mirror. Style: antique. Louis xvi. Period: 1780-1800. Country of origin: the netherlands.
