A magnificent and very rare rocking chair, designed in 1958 by Fredrik Kayser and manufactured by Vatne Lenestolfabrikk in Norway. Model 599 looks as if it is in constant need for motion. It exudes openness and lightness, and its refined profile, distinctive rocker rails, smoothly flowing lines and slightly inclined backrest offer a clear and charming invitation to relax and unwind. One of Kayser’s finest designs, the extraordinary chair is included in the collection of the National Museum of Norway. In very good restored condition, with a newly handwoven cane backrest, restored sprung seat and new cushion upholstered in wool fabric by Kvadrat. Designer / Fredrik Kayser.
