Set of 6 dessert plates Bernardaud Limoges – Art Deco – A714

Elegant set of 6 dessert plates made of fine Limoges porcelain, signed by the renowned house L. Bernardaud & Cie (stamped B&Co on the back). Perfect for concluding a meal on a refined note or for a chic afternoon tea, these Art Deco style plates (circa 1930) are stamped "Limoges Unique". They feature a delicate pattern of navy blue and gold trim adorned with floral garlands. A safe bet for enthusiasts of "mix and match" antique tableware. In very good condition. The porcelain is brilliant, and the patterns are perfectly preserved. No chips, cracks, or crazing. Please note a very slight and discreet fading in places on the outer trim, normal for their age and indicative of their authenticity. Diameter: 21.5 cm. Weight: 300 g each. Total weight: 1.8 kg. Explanations on the stamps: B & Co / LIMOGES FRANCE (in green): This is the white trademark of Bernardaud (B & Co for Bernardaud and Company), actively used since the early 20th century. LIMOGES FRANCE UNIQUE (in green): This green stamp corresponds to the mark of the Union Porcelainière. Registered in 1929, this "Limoges Unique" label guaranteed the authenticity and quality of 100% Limoges production. TACHET / QUINCAILLERIE / THIERS (in pink): This is the commercial mark of the retailer of the time. Hardware stores and department stores in the provinces often had a "Tableware" section and had luxury tableware they ordered from Limoges stamped in the name of their own shop (here, the Tachet Hardware Store located in Thiers in the Puy-de-Dôme). Thanks to the combination of these stamps, we can precisely date the manufacture of these pieces between 1929 and the 1930s/1940s. Good to know: Other pieces from this magnificent Bernardaud & Cie service (dinner plates, soup plates, dessert plates, serving dishes, and compote bowls) are currently available in my shop.
