Important Louis XV style mirror with parecloses from the Napoleonic III period, made of moulded wood and stucco, sculpted and gilded with gold leaf. An elegant testament to 19th-century French taste for 18th-century decorative arts, this large mirror with parecloses is fully in line with the tradition of refined productions from the Second Empire. Inspired by the Louis XV style, it features a rich rocaille decor composed of scrolls, foliage, and openwork ornaments, typical of the decorative vocabulary of the 18th century, reinterpreted under Napoleonic III with grandeur and generosity. Its significant sculpted pediment, lateral parecloses, and old gold leaf gilding give it a spectacular presence while maintaining the elegance of the Louis XV style. The generous proportions and refinement of the ornamentation immediately evoke the grand Haussmannian apartments and Parisian private hotels of the 19th century. 📏 Dimensions: Height: 177 cm. Width: 110 cm. 🪞 Features: Mirror with parecloses. Napoleonic III period – Second Empire. Louis XV rocaille style. Moulded and sculpted wood and stucco. Old gold leaf gilding. Antique glass. Condition: In good overall condition considering its age, with some wear and irregularities from time that contribute to its charm and authenticity.
