Pair of acrylic wall lights/sconces by Claus Bolby for CeBo industri. Denmark 1960s

Transparent acrylic sconces/wall lights in a variety of shades of yellow. Very good condition with only very few signs of age. Rewired for safety. Claus bolby worked with a casted and died acrylic mass forming it into transparent pieces of art. As the acrylic hardens it creates bubbles and patterns making every piece slightly different in shape, texture and tone. Bolby was born in 1944 and started working with lighting design and production in his early 20s. He remained active in the field until he passed away in 2009. He was not one to dwell on the past and was amused to discover that his 1960s light designs had become popular collectors’ items and were undergoing a thriving trade in the vintage design market. Claus bolby was the founder and chief of design for the danish lighting producer cebo industries. Standard e14 light bulb sockets. Sold only as a pair.
