An elegant executive or lounge chair with a modernist inspiration. It rests on a solid wood frame with a stepped design supported by four slightly tapered legs: straight front legs and saber-shaped rear legs. The curved front rail accentuates the chair's dynamic lines. The seat, backrest, and armrests are upholstered in stretched black synthetic leather, highlighted with tone-on-tone piping. The backrest is adorned with three tufted buttons. Dimensions: Height: 96 cm. Width: 67.5 cm. Depth: 60 cm. Condition Report: Very good overall condition, with some minor wear to the wood varnish and corners. Original upholstery unaltered. The slight recess creates a subtle interplay of volumes between the frame and the upholstery. The saber-shaped rear legs visually extend the inclination of the backrest, creating rhythm and elegance, while the discreet tapering of the legs adds lightness and elegance. The rigorous design, quality of execution, and balanced proportions evoke the finest Scandinavian and American furniture of the 1950s and 60s. An anonymous work of great refinement, it is comparable to the designs of Erik Kolling Andersen for Peder Pedersen, Ib Kofod-Larsen for Möbelfabrik, Edward Wormley for Dunbar, and Kai Lyngfeldt-Larsen for Søren Willadsen Möbelfabrik. A pair of identical chairs was sold by Tajan auction house as attributed to Jacques Quinet.
