Here is a very beautiful object in the Art Deco style and from the period, probably from the 1920s to 1940s. The tray or basket, as it has a handle, is made of metal, silver-plated today but it was probably gilded at one time, with some remaining golden reflections. It features a geometric pattern around its edge, alternating straight and curved lines, a typical motif of the Art Deco period. The three small bowls are made of thick moulded glass, and their base has a raised "fan" pattern on the underside (the inside is smooth). Perfect for serving canapés at aperitifs, it can also be repurposed as an original catch-all in an entrance hall or perhaps to hold jewellery or small makeup accessories in the bedroom or bathroom. It is in good condition, sturdy, with no chips but does show some signs of its great age: one bowl has an original mark or one that could be from a knock, but it has not created a chip (there is no missing piece of glass). The metal has a small dent at the base of the basket, as well as the patina of time: several small bluish corrosion spots on the inside (the metal must contain copper), small stains and scratches under the base. The bowls also have a small original defect from the moulding: their upper edge has small roughnesses that are not visible but can be felt to the touch. This basket measures 18 cm in diameter, 22.5 cm in maximum width including the handle, 12.5 cm in maximum height at the handle, the height of the basket's edge is 2.5 cm, and the height of the bowls is 3.5 cm.
