Impressionist oil painting on cardboard signed MAZARD - Barbizon school

Good morning. I am offering this impressionist painting, in perfect vintage condition from the end of the 19th century. This authentic work is signed lower right, then countersigned on the back of the original box: Alphonse Mazard (1865-1939), referenced painter. This painting, very representative of its time, represents a country house near a pond on the painter's property in Itteville located 38 kilometers south of Paris (Île-de-France). It is possible that this country house was in fact the painter's studio. This oil on cardboard was imagined by 2 diagonals from top to bottom of the work running along the 2 slopes of the roof. These 2 diagonals are an example of the golden square resulting from multiple combinations of the golden ratio which is proof of the work of a professional painter. It is also necessary to note the omnipresent thickness of the pictorial material, as well as the multitude of spring colors. This oil on cardboard comes directly from the painter's workshop. A blond oak frame is available, it is also representative of this era. Very robust, it has been completely restored. A varnish to age has been added. Frame dimensions: 50 x 37 cm. Dimensions of the work: 45 X 32 cm.
