Large antique earthenware plate from Gien – braided border – late 19th century

Rectangular plate in Gien ironstone. Its decoration in blue monochrome on an ivory background features a central floral medallion and an elegant frieze, in the refined spirit of French faience from the late 19th century. This model is distinguished by its rare raised woven border, seldom found on serving plates, and by its moulded marking under the base: a triangle with V6, a workshop or mould marker typical of production from that era. Stamped Gien + moulded marking: triangle + V6: intertwined stamp used between 1875 and 1938. Length 36 cm, width 28 cm, height 3 cm. In good vintage condition, with age-related patina and crazing, small signs of use (see photos). A rare and decorative piece.
