Japanese art, vintage japanese chokin plate, gilded porcelain, hummingbird with flowers, 24 carat gold plated engraved, handmade. very good condition, no wear of gilding. diameter 21 cm. The metal engravings of japan are created by the ancient art of chokin. Gilded with gold and silver, the engravings were originally created to decorate the armament of the samurai warriors.
