Box of 18 Fruit Cutlery in Louis XVI Style Silver-Plated Gold 19th Century

A refined fruit service from the 19th century, consisting of 18 pieces — 6 knives, 6 two-pronged forks, and 6 spoons — presented in its original case (42 x 25 cm) covered in blue leather with a golden silk lining. The silver-plated handles are finely adorned with longitudinal fluting and an oval relief medallion depicting a still life with fruits, in the pure neoclassical spirit of Louis XVI. The functional parts — blades, spoon heads, fork tines — feature a beautiful antique gilding, probably fire-gilded, with warm and deep reflections. The set shows slight oxidation and wear of the gilding that is entirely consistent with its age, bearing witness to a beautiful life. Typical of French silversmith production from the Napoleonic III period with Louis XVI decoration. A superb character piece, ideal for a festive table or a collection display.
