This dat chair (swivel office chair) was created by designers charles & ray eames and marketed by american herman miller in the late 1950s until the end of the fiberglass chair series in 1993. After the pac chair, the dat represented herman miller's first venture into the "office chair" market, an area in which the company excelled in the late 1970s and 1980s. The cream-colored fiberglass shell is covered with a vintage skaï (synthetic leather) in camel/cognac color. The border is black and contrasts with the shell and coating. The only defect to note is a slight curling of the coating on the bottom of the armrests. The 4-spoke aluminum star base is in good condition and the mechanism is functioning normally. This piece is signed and dated (see photos).
