This set of three modernist chairs was designed by HW Klein for the Danish manufacturer Bramin in the 1960s. The chair frames are made of dark brown rosewood. The backrest is slightly inclined. The seat is recessed into the chair frame, and the backrest slightly protrudes from the outline of the frame. The chairs are covered in natural black leather. The classic design of the furniture fits well in both modern interiors and timeless classic designs. Henry Walter Klein (1919 - 1991) was a Norwegian designer known for his innovative approach to furniture production methods. He designed furniture for living rooms, bedrooms, as well as churches and hotels. His sideboards, armchairs, chairs, and tables are timeless Scandinavian creations. He joined the Royal Navy as a carpenter during World War II. Two years later, he attended a technical school in Denmark, where he was mentored by Finn Juhl. In 1959, he graduated with a degree in design and founded his own studio. He developed new production methods, but his ideas were costly. To address this issue, he invited the biggest names in Scandinavian design to explore a new approach to plastic. This was a great success: Fritz Hansen purchased the patents. During the economic crisis of the 1980s, Klein moved to the United States and stayed there. From Bramin's catalogues and advertisements, we can conclude that Na Jørgensen launched the Bramin brand around 1957 or 1958. At its peak, Bramin collaborated with many respected Danish designers such as Johannes Andersen, Hans Olsen, Kurt Østervig, and Frank Reenskaug. These chairs are in their original vintage condition. They show cracks in the backrests, scratches, scuffs, and a natural patina. The seat height is 44 cm. The colours of the products shown in the photos may differ slightly from the actual ones. This is due to individual monitor settings and lighting conditions – the photos were taken in artificial light, which may affect the perception of colours. However, we strive to ensure that the photos reflect the actual appearance of the product as faithfully as possible. The offer may include photos of the item in a living space, but these are for illustrative purposes only.
