Mahogany Bureau Plat, Louis XVI style - 2nd part of the 19th century

Louis XVI style mahogany veneer desk with a mitered frame top with a molded brass rod edge. The center is covered in green imitation leather surrounded by a gilded vignette depicting flowers and scrolls. The apron offers two large drawers with bronze-chiseled keys, a threaded entry, and a working lock. The other three sides are shaped in the same style. The corners are soberly sculpted and decorated with brass-plated fluting. This table rests on four brass-covered and fluted legs, ending in refined sabots.
