Lucien Brisdoux Art Deco vase

Ceramic vase (grès) signed and numbered by lucien brisdoux (1878-1963) typical of the 1940s.-1950s. The green color inside is typical of the fashionable greens in these two decades. This green colour can be found in the series 'little murders of agatha christie' on the walls of commissioner swan laurence's office and or officiates its charming secretary marlene. Polychrome décor including green, grey brown, grège, beige, it is in perfect condition. It measures 27cm in height, 14, 5cm at the collar. History of lucien brisdoux (1878-1963) - france his father, achille brisdoux, set up his factory in bonny sur loire, in the loiret, in 1881, his son lucien took over in 1905, he bought a pottery in saint amand in 1918 entitled ''la poterie neuve''. In 1927 he created his own studio, supported by a collaborator, fernand laurent (1885-1946). His production was then devoted exclusively to cast decorative sandstone, despite his talents as a turner, he concentrated his research on numerous tests of land and glazes. He also did remarkable work with metal oxides which explains his affection for metal-center enamels (gold or platinum) with casting effects obtained by projection of creosote, after application of ceramic gold, for economic reasons he abandoned this technique in 1940. He leaves his workshops many decorative objects (candy, vases, tobacco pots, etc.). His son roger resumed his workshops in 1955 but died the same year in an accident during the le mans 24 hours.
