For sale: rare pair of Scintilla pendant lights, designed by the brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and produced by the legendary Milanese house Fontana Arte, project from 1972. The Scintilla system represented an absolute novelty, combining the essential and versatile design of a decorative lamp with the lighting capability of a technical system. Its structure of articulated chrome diamonds, circular diffusers made of transparent borosilicate glass, and halogen sources create an object of rare architectural elegance, as sculptural as it is effective. Major figures in Italian lighting design, Livio and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni worked alongside Achille Castiglioni, Gino Sarfatti, Vico Magistretti, and Joe Colombo to make Milan the world capital of designer lighting.
